Overnight Accommodations

  • While room check-in time is 4:00 p.m., you are invited to arrive as early as noon to enjoy the property. Room check-out is noon, though you are welcome to depart later.
  • If you reserved one of our Creek Side rooms, which are only accessible by foot, bellhop service is available at check-in from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at check-out from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • For guests staying multiple nights, make-over service is provided from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Rooms with a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door will not be made-over.
  • As a reminder, in-room entertainment is only available by roku, a streaming device we provide with all monitors. While you do not need a roku account to view television programming, you will need your username and password to access your streaming accounts (i.e. netflix, hulu, etc.).
  • Evins Mill does not provide in-room (or out-of-room) safes where guests may store valuables.

Meal Services

  • Full meal service is built into every room reservation and does not require separate arrangements.
  • Hors d'oeuvres are available as early as 6:00, followed by dinner service at 7:00. Breakfast is served from 9:00 to 10:00. Except for sack lunches scheduled on the day of arrival, sandwich selections for lunch may be tendered on-site.
  • If you have special dietary needs or requests not already recorded in your reservation, please alert us so we can prepare your meals accordingly.
  • Reservations for specific tables may not be made in advance but are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Beer, wine & mixed drinks are available but not included. You are welcome to bring your own wine to dinner for a modest corkage fee. For a sampling of our wine list, click here.
  • The attire for a stay at Evins Mill is comfortable and casual. We request resort casual attire for the evening meal, with an emphasis on casual. Walking or hiking shoes are suggested for hikes to Carmac Falls.
  • Should you wish to leave a gratuity, you may do so at check-out, OR on the dinner table for your server or in your room for housekeeping. As a guide, the imputed value of dinner is $60 per guest.

Policies

Securing Room & Dinner Reservations

To secure dine-in dinner and room reservations, Evins Mill requires a credit card on file but with one exception does not process payment in advance. To secure the three-bedroom Halcyon Penthouse, Evins Mill will process the card on-file for $300/night.

Room Cancellations

  • To discourage would-be patrons from reserving rooms unless they are confident in their travel plans, Evins Mill charges a modest cancellation fee of $25/room night regardless of how far in advance the cancellation is communicated.
  • To avoid a full cancellation charge, guests must call in a cancellation seven days prior to their arrival date. For example, a Friday room reservation requires notification by 5:00 p.m. the preceding Friday.

  • For reservations secured less than seven days in advance, guests must call in a cancellation the day after making the reservation to avoid a full cancellation charge. For example, a Friday room reservation secured the preceding Tuesday requires notification by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

  • In the case of a late cancellation, if Evins Mill is able to re-book the cancelled room, "no harm, no foul." If Evins Mill is unable to re-book the room, it will process the card on file 50% of the value of the reservation.
  • If the late cancellation is the result of impassable roads, guests may apply that 50% to a future reservation within the next six months on any night(s), subject to regular reservation guidelines.
  • If the late cancellation is for any other reason, guests may apply that 50% to a future reservation within the next six months, but only on mutually acceptable designated evenings

Dinner/Brunch Cancellations

To cancel a dinner or brunch reservation and avoid a potential penalty, guests must call by 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the reservation. In the case of a late cancellation, if Evins Mill is able to re-book the table, "no harm, no foul." If Evins Mill is unable to re-book the table, it will process the card on file for 50% of the value of the reservation. Guests may not apply that 50% payment to a future reservation.

Day-Tripper Pre-Payments & Cancellations

Day-tripper reservations require pre-payment in full. To cancel a day-tripper reservation and avoid penalty, guests must call in a cancellation by 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the reservation, in which case Evins Mill will apply the pre-payment to a future reservation. In the case of a late cancellation, pre-payments are forfeited.

Elopement Cancellations

To secure their services, our elopement partners at We Eloped Nashville require a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the remaining 50% one month prior to the elopement date. Deposits to We Eloped Nashville are non-refundable, though in some circumstances may be applied toward a future date, as long as it is within one year of the originally schedule date. In such cases, the deposit or deposits must be applied toward the same package originally booked rather than a more modest package.

Evins Mill requires a $500 deposit one month from the elopement date. The Evins Mill elopement deposit, which is separate from room reservations, is non-refundable but may be applied toward a future date, as long as it is within one year of the originally scheduled date.

Left & Found

  • Evins Mill stores, labels, and registers left items at its "left & found" container in the Main Lodge office and retains such items for 60 days, at which point it will dispose of unclaimed items.
  • Upon request, Evins Mill can mail left items to their owners and requests the latter cover the postage. Or for guests who live in the Nashville area, Evins Mill can transport left items to its Nashville office where they can be retrieved at no charge.
  • Should a guest depart with room key in pocket, they may remit the key to P.O. Box 606, Smithville, TN 37166, or if more convenient may drop it off at our Nashville office at 2820 Dogwood Place, Suite 102, Nashville, TN 37204.

Other

  • Firearms are not permitted in publicly accessible spaces or within overnight accommodations, including the Main Lodge, Gristmill, Creek Side Guest Houses, Solstice Lodge or on the grounds in general, as authorized by T.C.A. 39-17-1359.

  • Evins Mill is the exclusive provider of beer & mixed drinks in public spaces with one exception - guests may provide their own wine at dinner for a modest corkage fee.

  • Guests hike and swim at their own risk.
  • We have been friends to multiple non-human creatures for many years and like many folks prefer not to board our pets while away. That said, we've also found that not everyone is as fond of our furry friends as we may be. To that end, pets are not invited, aside from certified service animals. South Paw Bed & Bath

We warmly recommend Southpaw Bed & Bath, a pet-boarding & grooming facility less than 10 miles from Evins Mill, owned and operated by a former veterinarian technician. As clients of Southpaw, we speak from experience and recommend them highly. For more information, call 615.597.8252.
